28.05.2020 – Covid 19 & Summer has arrived!
It’s certainly strange times we’re in at the moment. The horses still need feeding, and mares covering. As a whole not as many people will be covering their mares this year, with the uncertainty surrounding the industry at the moment, nonetheless both Watar and Life Force have been busy, which will keep them, as well as me happy!
We’ve had some cracking foals so far this year, with only a few mares left to foal. All mothers and babies doing well, which is half the battle. As we all know, all that is needed now is a bit of luck
Another recent addition to the equine family is Scarlett O’Halo, by Garswood, out of a Galileo mare. She a half sister to Redicean, who excelled over hurdles, maybe she’ll do the same! Tadhg is all set to take up his position as stable apprentice now too, getting plenty of practice in on Tucker!
22.10.2019 – Watar Crop – Looking to the future!
Two runners by Watar in the past few weeks and two third place finishes. Kilbrook, who Jonjo O’Neill and co paid £78k last year, ran a cracking race, finishing third in a very competitive bumper at Chepstow, at their “Future Stars” meeting. Here’s hoping Kilbrook will be a future star himself, Lisnagar Oscar finished 3rd in the same race last year so hopefully this can be the start of big things for Kilbrook.

Coniston Spa had run once in a English P2P for Sophie Easterby and finished in 3rd place, he filled the same place on his rules debut in Sedgefield, with an eye catching staying on third in a 2m maiden hurdle. Once upped in trip, he looks sure to be winning races for the wily Mick Easterby.
07.10.2019 – 2019/20 Irish Point to Point Season Commences
The Irish Point to Point Season for 2019/20 kicked off over the weekend with meetings in Toomebridge on Saturday and Castletown-Geoghan on Sunday.
There was one Watar runner over the weekend in the concluding 6 year old and upwards geldings maiden at Castletown-Geoghan where Babysean won first time out for Caroline McCaldin and Noel McParlan dead heating with Pyrios, a previous winner (disqualified). Barring a minor mistake at the last he looked sure to take the spoils for himself.

He looks sure to improve on what he did yesterday and may be one to watch out for in the future, both in the sales ring and on the track.
07.08.2019
Welcome to the world of the WWW!
Currently Setting this up, which takes longer than one would imagine. I’ve got the Goffs UK August Sale on in the background, where there seems to be a bit of value to be had for a change. It’s only halfway through the sale but there are two lots to date which have caught the eye and look very good value.
Lot 24 – a 3 year old Shantou Filly out of a 7 time winning Black Type Mare Toubeera (Rated 140) with Lieutenant Colonel also prominent on the page. She has a 2 year old filly, and both a yearling and a colt foal by Kayf Tara as younger siblings. £1,100 seems very reasonable.
Lot 96 – Eoline Jolie – A winner two runs ago, when first seen over the larger obstacles. She probably won’t improve a whole lot coming from Willie Mullins yard, however at £3,200 she looks a cheap mare that could potentially run at some of the big festivals throughout the year. She has a nice French Pedigree to boost.
Best of luck to all, it’s needed in this game!
